The pen and pencil will be used in tandem with the paper to plan out mock up wire frames for a desired design. These will be an essential part of the planning stage. c). Personnel and activities

The personnel I would need to contact would need to be people in publication, distribution, advertising and sales. A publicist is a person who can manage and direct the publicity of the magazine. Distribution is important for the physical creation of the magazine and distribution of the product to stores. Advertising is a integral part as this person is relyed upon to make the product sell and increase sales. The sales part is handled by a large chain of news agents, book shops and supermarkets usually, for instance Sainsburys and Waterstones.

d). Budget

e). Relevant legal and ethical

Law: Obscene Publications ACT 1959 And 1964.

Anything that deprave or corrupt a person. A warning is needed.

The Defamation Act 2013

This act is to protect intellectual property, so a if a person is unfairly insulted or defamed and as a result lost a significant amount of earning, they could sue for defamation of character and claim this back.

Copyright Law

This law protects the publication of content. Under 1995 regulation the period of the authors copyright was extended to the lifetime of the author and 70 years thereafter.

Negligent publication

The author or the publisher under certain circumstances, either individually or jointly, could be found liable for incitement or negligent publication.

Ethical Issues

Ethical issues are not covered by law. For example fashion magazines using furs from real animals, or encouraging people to play 6+ hours of video games.

LO5 Feedback

In review of the feedback given I believe the overall response was positive. In question four when I asked what I should include in my chosen ideas development. The majority of the answers suggested a timescale production plan as well as a budget plan. So to conform to this feedback I shall produce a production and budget plan as an addition to the development done.

LO4 Pitching ideas

LO3 Develpment for E3 everything idea - Treatment

LO3 Developing ideas proposal and pre production- Idea 2

Proposal for Entertainment magazine

Form
The form for the magazine will be print based media product.

Content
The content would mostly consist of articles containing informational for video games announced at the E3 convention.  The main content would be articles that overview the recent E3 releases. Other content will consist of reviews, interviews and advertisements. The cover will contain taglines for articles, slogans to attract customers, masthead for the title and cover lines to preview articles.

Style
The style of this magazine will be influenced by the design features and the industry standard conventions. The games magazine conventions are slightly looser than sporting magazines so the design will be a lot more flexible. To create a unique style for the magazine many gaming magazines will be used a reference guides. The house style for the magazine will consist of colour scheme, fonts and design graphics. This house style will become an important part of the magazines identity.

Position in the market
The market for gaming magazines isn't as full as other magazine markets, however it is a very competitive market. Magazines like EDGE and Xbox official magazine have dominated this market making it hard for new magazines to find a place in this market. These magazines have content that focuses on games specifically so to avoid being competitive with the magazines will be focused around a gaming convention and appealing to the audience for that.

Target audience
The target audience for this magazine is males and females aged 17 to 30. Of any ethnicity however western by culture and of demographic A,B,C1 so as to have disposable income. They should be fans of the gaming industry as well as the latest releases.

Proposal for sports magazine

Form

The magazine would be in the form of a print based media product.

Content
The content would consist of information and news on golf. The main content will consist of overviews of recent event and analysis of players standings. The would also be an interview with a golf player. The cover content will consist of a taglines for articles, masthead for the magazines title and cover lines to entice readers.

Style

The style of the magazine will mostly depend on the design of the magazine. This style will adhere to popular industry conventions. The magazine is a sports magazine so it will follow the conventions for sporting magazines but specifically golfing magazines. To make sure this is established many magazine examples will be used a reference material. The house style of the magazine will consist of a colour scheme, font type and a design. This house style will help to define the magazines images in the future.

Position in the market
There are a lot of golf magazines already making it a saturated market, however they mostly seem to be aimed at an older to middle aged audience. The magazine I will create, will be aimed at a much younger audience which will make it a prominent magazine in this market.

Target audience
The target audience for my magazine will be men and women of any gender and ethnicity, aged 17-30. The demographic should be of A,B,C1 so as to have disposable income enough to be able to indulge in items featured in the magazine. They should be a follower of the sport and an avid player.

LO2 Generate ideas for an original print based media product

Golf magazine

A monthly golf magazine would feature all the latest news on golf equipment, news on golf event and updates on golfers. This magazine will target a younger audience than other golf magazines. This is to create a new golf magazine audience that wouldn't usually buy into the sport, this would also benefit the magazine because there wouldn't be a competitive factor with other golf magazines. The target audience would be any gender and ethnicity aged 17-30.

Gaming magazine
A gaming magazine that is released annually. The magazine would be based around the E3 gaming convention that happens annually, this means the magazine would act as a supporting guide to the convention. This magazine would feature content like articles, reviews of games and written overview of the event. The target audience for this magazine would be a similar target audience to other gaming magazines. This means any gender aged 17-30, western by culture and of demographic A,B,C1. As this is the stereotypical demographic for games magazines.

 Lifestyle magazine
A travel magazine that is released monthly. The magazine would be about travelling the world in 12 month, key places and must see locations. The content would consist of articles, reviews and guides. The target audience for this magazine would be people of any gender, ethnicity, aged 20-45 and of western culture. Of the demographics A, B, C1 because of the need for disposable income.
